A MESSAGE FROM SAYO

I started my fitness journey for many reasons. Mostly because I didn't like the way I felt or looked, but also because I wanted to avoid prevalent medical issues in my family. There I was, a 21-year-old college student, former athlete, yet overweight and out of shape due to poor dieting and lack of physical, active life. I first started with walking to all of my classes until I made the commitment to join a gym. 

 

I encourage my friends to join me but one thing you realize with a change of lifestyle is that it is usually a solo journey. It takes a lot of self-motivation and persistence but the results are so worth the pain, sweat, and sometimes tears. I graduated via premed with a degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey. I continued on to complete my Masters in Business and Science from Keck Graduate Institute in California. I used the knowledge I acquired to develop a discipline that will benefit me as I continue on in my journey and throughout life...and I want to do the same for you!!

I focus on exercises that keep you engaged but are not impossible to do. My workouts are for everyone, male or female, of all ages. I love incorporating HIIT (high-intensity interval training) exercises into my routines because it helps build endurance and you can get a lot done in a short period of time. Many of us don't know what we can do until we try!

I also love to lift weights. The biggest misconception is that women will look manly when they lift. But building muscle doesn't make you look manly, it makes you strong. I will provide exercises that can be done both at home and at the gym, alongside dietary advice that will help you maintain and stick to your goals. 

​

I am the trainer that encourages you to push past your limit, utilize the time and equipment that you have, and to never say you can't. Because if others have done it, why can't you?! 

"Workouts For All!" 

I have been in three major car accidents and have extreme back pain that makes it difficult to do high-intensity workouts. I participated in Sayo's workouts throughout the pandemic and she was very encouraging, gentle, supportive, and made the workouts fun and attainable for all of us. She makes fitness less intimidating for everyday people and is so friendly that you forget she is working you to the bone!
